Soft Sided Packaging

Soft Sided Bags

The Soft-Sided Bag System provides a proven alternative to traditional metal containers for the packaging of low level radioactive and hazardous waste streams. A modular or fork liftable metal loading frame is part of the soft-sided system. The frame is used to hold the bag in the open position during loading. Soft-sided bags offer a cost-effective method without sacrificing safety, compliance or dependability.

The soft sided bag can be custom made to any size in order to fit any project capacity. Standard sizes include:

  • 3.5 Cubic Yards (12,000 lb. Capacity)
  • 5 Cubic Yards (15,000 lb. Capacity)
  • 7 Cubic Yards (18,000 lb. Capacity)
  • 9 Cubic Yards (24,000 lb. Capacity)
  • 17 Cubic Yards (40,000 lb. Capacity)
  • 25 Cubic Yards (55,000 lb. Capacity)

Custom Design Options

Our soft sided bag has many custom design options available to fit the requirements of any job or project. These design features include but are not limited to:

Velcro or Zipper Closure

Geosynthetic Liners for Puncture Resistance

Wastelock Liner for Moisture Absorption

Custom Sizes and Dimensions

Single or Multipoint Lifting Straps

Custom “Forkliftable” Pallets

Geosynthetic Hold In Straps (Patented Design)

Custom Loading Frames

Loading frames are required when using soft-sided bags. The combination of frame and bags create a system used for safety during loading. Frames are available in either modular and fork liftable designs. Custom loading frames are available for purchase or rental.

Modular frames are typically used on job sites with a limited footprint. The modular frame is assembled and secured using a hook and loop closure, allowing the package to be removed without the use of lifting straps.

The fork liftable frame is typically used on larger projects where heavy equipment is available to move the system into position for loading/unloading. Custom loading frames are available per customer specifications.
